Classic gin sour with absinthe rinse and orange bitters

Ingredients

  • 3/4 oz (22.2 ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
    Fresh squeezed
  • 1 dash (0.6 ml) Orange Bitters
    Optional but traditional
  • 3/4 oz (22.2 ml) Cointreau
    Orange liqueur
  • 3/4 oz (22.2 ml) Lillet Blanc
    French aperitif wine
  • Rinse Absinthe
    For glass rinse
  • 3/4 oz (22.2 ml) Gin
    London Dry gin

Instructions

  1. Rinse chilled coupe glass with absinthe, swirl to coat, discard excess

    Light coating only

  2. Add 3/4 oz gin, 3/4 oz Cointreau, 3/4 oz Lillet Blanc, and 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice to shaker
  3. Add 1 dash orange bitters
  4. Fill with ice and shake vigorously
  5. Double strain into prepared absinthe-rinsed coupe
  6. Express orange peel oils over drink
